allah hafiz, khuda hafiz,asalam-e-laikum or plain ol ok bye?

in order to distinguish ourselves from the indians, pakistan for some reason has been trying to arabize itself in the mistaken impression that by being more like arabs we would automatically become better muslims.one indication of this amongst many is the almost complete annihlation of the word khuda hafiz from our vocabulary.its either Allah hafiz(by far the most popular),asalam-e-laikum or bye bubye ok what have you.in india, the muslims there use khuda hafiz.its urdu for allah hafiz.here in order to be better muslims we've incorporated the arab word Allah hafiz.now to be honest this in itself isnt a big deal.but it symbolizes this wierd mindset born and bred from state propoganda and indoctrination started in earnest under general zia that we are muslims and that being muslim means being like arabs.anyway i try my best to say Khuda hafiz in response to Allah hafiz whenever i can.what do y'all say/

hehehe you're so cute sometimes..i mean the things you come up with...kher yea im still stuck on Khuda Hafiz its mostly habitual also Allah Hafiz is too ptv newscaster for me...not that theres anything wrong with being a ptv newscaster haha but you know what i mean..but ur right "it symbolizes this wierd mindset born and bred from state propoganda and indoctrination started in earnest under general zia that we are muslims and that being muslim means being like arabs" and being more arab-like(Allah Hafiz)is generally thought of as more authentic than the Persian(Khuda Hafiz) there are obvious reasons for that preference though( i.e The Prophet p.b.u.h was an arab, the Quran was revealed in arabic,Mecca and Medina are in saudi arabia)also Khuda is not one of the 99 names of Allah etc…but hey Khuda translates into “self existing” which God definitely is so I say its all good!!!

as a kid,i remember asking an adult the difference btw, khuda hafiz, and Allah hafiz.
adult said
"khuda hafiz is more universal...khuda sub ka hota hai...or maybe its more general.
and Allah is more islamic, more personal...its a sign of possessiveness on the muslim's part.
Allah sirf musalman ka hota hai."
now the adult failed to explain it well enough for me to choose which i agreed with, im not sure she herself knew for sure.
i still prefer khuda hafiz!

'Khuda' is a word derived from the old persian language. 'Khuda' has become inter-changeable with 'Allah'. It is, i would assume, preferable to use Allah Hafiz as Allah is the favourite name of Allah who has in total 99 names. but as one does remember Allah when saying goodbye to someone, whats the harm in just saying Allah Hafiz ...what word can possibly taste sweeter on the tip of your tongue than Allah itself.

Presumably I think it should be "Allah Hafiz".

Firstly, it's Arabic. Secondly, the favourite of Allah's name. Thirdly, Quran in it's original language seems to be the sweetest.

It's Allah hafiz ;-)
